Madden NFL 09 - 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition Questions?
1. NFL Head Coach 09 will ONLY be available with the 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition of Madden NFL 09 for the 360/PS3. Right or Wrong?
2. I heard the Collector's Edition is going to be worth $89.99. Do you think this a good business move for EA?
3. I heard the Collector's Edition is going to have exclusive classic Madden gameplay and bonus video content. What do you think the classic Madden gameplay will be? Will it something like playing the 09 edition with the 2005 edition's controls (aka no QB Vision and no Weapons)? Also, do you think the bonus video content will be something with NFL Films and the NFL Network?
4. What are your expectations for both of these games?
5. Finally, who do you think will be the cover boy of Madden NFL 09?
1) True, they decided to add those two together because no body would be buying Head coach alone.
2) Also correct, it is going to start at 89.99. Its too early to tell if it's a good move, but I believe it is an risky move. There are two reasons:
First, the price. 89.99 devided by 2 is almost 45 dollars each. Madden 09 is probably worth 45, but head coach? Nobody really wants Head Coach, and it certainly isnt worth that much. By combining the two, they are offering a crappy game with 09 for 90 bucks. People might try it, but I am sure not a lot would like it.
Second: I dont know how much improvement they are going to make on 09, but I was dissapointed with the previous verison of madden (08). Unleses they do something truely ingenious or something, I believe that this buisiness move will piss off a lot of fans, especially those who has been long complaining about the lack or improvement with each release, other than updated rosters.
3: Sorry, I can help you there, anyway, whatever I say would be pure uneducated speculation. I believe the video content will be classic games or classic moments in football such as the Drive etc.
4: Not very much, unlike five years ago, when I eagerly waited for the new release. Now, i feel like they arent doing enough to make each version worthwhile. They shoudl bring something new to the game, or lower the prices.
5: I believe the cover guy might be Eli Manning.
