I'm doing a social studies project about people who impacted the world... Do you think Princess Diana was one of those people?
Yes, she did make an impact, she was the first person of any note, to mix with, touch, hold and hug people suffering from AIDS she did so with no condemnation of their way of life. It didn't matter to her, how that person contracted the disease, then an automatic death sentence to anyone who was HIV positive. Many people at that time really believed, that even being in the same room as an AIDS sufferer was enough to catch the disease. Maybe, people who think that she didn't make an impact were too young to realise, what AIDS was in those days or have forgotten, I haven't and neither has another member. In a shallower sense, she was a fashion icon for many millions of people. After her divorce from Noddy's friend, she went on to fight for the abolition of land mines, not just the clearing of the millions of land mines around the world but, for the total banning of their production. China and america were two notable countries that voted against the ban.
