Presbyterian Church
What is the difference between Presbyterian Church USA and the Presbyterian Church of America?
What does each believe? When did they split?
PCA= fundamentalist. No women Elders allowed. Their split from the PC(USA) happened not too long ago. It is a rather recent development.
PC(USA) =mainstream, more ecumenically minded, progressive.

"According to the PCA's official website, it "separated from the PCUS in opposition to the long-developing theological liberalism which denied the deity of Jesus Christ and inerrancy and authority of Scripture."
(The PCUS= the southern branch of Presbyterianism, before the reunion in the 1980s with the northern branch, thus resulting in the PC-USA.)
Anyway, the claim that the church was becoming "too liberal" and "denying the divinity of Christ" and the "inerrancy of scripture" is a bunch of holy hogwash.
