How to fight a City of Toronto Parking Ticket?
I got a parking ticket while at Centennial College the other day. I am a student there and I accidently parked in a 'visitors parking spot' and got a ticket (even though I have a paid for/valid student parking pass) Anyways, I got out of my class just as the security guard was writing it. He handed me the ticket that you can't even read. It is written out so lightly that a) you can't read my license plate or the date, and 2) where he's supposed to check off the violation and amount due, he didn't check anything off. I said to him, "how do you expect me to pay it when I can't read it?" and he told me it was my problem and to fight it, or pay the $30 (which I guess is the violation charge) Anyways, my question is....How can I fight this and can I have someone else to court for me or do I have to go?

How can you fight this? The city has been so overwhelmed by parking tickets for years, that anyone who "fights one" in this way learns "a dirty little secret city hall doesn't want you to know." See link.
I have done this and it worked for me and have talked it about with several others who knew "the secret." Don't sweat it.
